A Queensland tribute for the late Peter Brock will be staged during the Lexmark Indy 300 on the Gold Coast from October 19 to 22.
The Lexmark Indy 300 Management Committee met Chairman Terry Mackenroth today to discuss an appropriate tribute for the Australian motor racing icon who has a massive supporter base in Queensland.
The details of the Peter Brock tribute at the Lexmark Indy 300 are still to be finalised with an announcement expected next week.
The activities will give Lexmark Indy 300 patrons, especially Queenslanders, the chance to say their own goodbyes to this Australian legend.
“We wanted to put a tribute together to enable Queensland fans an opportunity to pay their respects to the late Peter Brock,” said Mackenroth.
“Our Management Committee is finalising ideas that will honour Peter in a way that an Australian motor racing legend deserves.
“He has a huge fan base in Queensland. This will provide the public another opportunity to pay its respects to Peter in addition to the magnificent memorial services and tributes organised over the next couple of weeks.
“We think the tribute at the Lexmark Indy 300 will be fitting and uniquely Queensland.”
