With only a few days left, the queue of people is growing to become the ‘Ultimate Motorsport Fan’ at this year’s Lexmark Indy 300 on the Gold Coast from October 20 to 23. All fans have to do is purchase their Lexmark Indy 300 tickets through Ticketek on or before June 30 (THIS THURSDAY) to go into the draw.

The ‘Ultimate Motorsport Fan’ will experience being a team member for the new Team Australia in the Champ Car World Series as well as the HSV Dealer Team in the Gillette V8 Supercar Challenge.

The winner will join Team Australia for the all-important qualifying sessions in pit lane as well as meet the drivers Alex Tagliani from Canada and sole Aussie entrant Marcus Marshall. The ‘Ultimate Motorsport Fan’ will also be an honourary pit crew member for the HSV Dealer Team for qualifying in the Gillette V8 Supercar Challenge, with drivers Rick Kelly and Garth Tander negotiating their way around the tight and testing 4.47km Surfers Paradise street circuit at speeds up to 260kph

2003 Lexmark Indy 300 winner Ryan Hunter-Reay knows just how exciting it can be in the heart of the action in pit lane. Hunter-Reay will this year be driving for Rocketsports Racing at the Lexmark Indy 300, and will be one of Team Australia’s main rivals in the Champ Car race.

“That is where races can be won and lost,” said Hunter-Reay, on a recent trip to Sydney. “It can be as adrenalin-pumping and intense in pit lane as it can be racing around the track. There is no better way to experience racing and how important every member of a team is, than in pit lane in the heart of the action.”
