The grandson of four-time Indianapolis 500 champion A.J. Foyt began his driving career in junior dragsters at age 9, winning two titles, before moving to go-karts at age 11. Despite his famous name, Foyt earned his way up the racing ladder. His first job was working at the race shop as a parts washer and he served on the crew and changed right-front tire for A.J. Foyt Racing IndyCar Series driver Airton Daré during the 2002 season.
