Before a massive crowd of 1100 at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre Gold Coast local Kate Hockly won the prestigious title of Bartercard Miss Indy 2007. This petite blonde impressed the judges throughout the whole week in not just one judging category but all categories including Photographic, Interview, Eveningwear, Swimwear and Sportswear where she competed with a live snake before a large crowd in Brisbane Queen Street Mall.
Kate now travels to Mexico for a fun filled week to compete for the prestigious title ‘Face of Champ Car’ – she competes against Grand Prix titleholders from Long Beach, Houston, Edmonton, San Jose and Cleveland in what’s anticipated as the ultimate international sports model search. The intense week in Mexico includes VIP parties, special appearances, international media interviews, a feature shoot with FHM magazine, autograph sessions, parade laps with Champ Car Drivers and if any spare time she may enjoy the sights all whilst having her own personal security. If she wins Kate will sign a representative contract to act as the ambassador and official representative for the 2008 Champ Car World Series.
Originally from New Zealand Kate this 20 year old Events Manager who enjoys cooking, scuba diving, sunbathing and reading. This gorgeous blonde Gold Coast local is studying a Bachelor of Communications and is hoping to pursue a career in organising charity events or being an ambassador for a corporate brand.
There was no rest for young Kate after the announcement of her becoming 2007 Bartercard Miss Indy; appearing on track on Friday morning to greet the swarms of media all desperate to catch a glimpse of this stunning new addition to the long list of already successful Bartercard Miss Indy winners. Following this she raced to live national television crosses, radio interviews and more meet and greet with on-track sporting celebrities.
Friday night, Kate was wined and dined with the executives of the Champ Car World Series at the Lexmark Indy Gala Ball before another full day on track including being shot for the front cover of the 2009 Bartercard Miss Indy Calendar, more media interviews and corporate suite visits.
Kate was able to experience what the Lexmark Indy 300 is all about - the speed and excitement of motor-sport, being lucky enough to ride in a pace car ride topping speeds of over 195km!!!!
Kate spent the 2007 Lexmark Indy 300 in hot demand creating a media frenzy wherever she went and enjoyed every minute of it, hoping that the rest of her reign continues at the same high speed pace.
Kate has won over $45 000 in cash and prizes with a $10 000 promotional Bartercard Contract, Aprilia Scooter, Holiday at Magic Mountain, $5000 Xtreme.cc Entertainment Centre, Ralph Magazine Shoot, $5000 of jewellery from Wallace Bishop and prizes from Xtreme Clothing, PPS, Dirty Dog, High Sierra, Dura Sales, and Beach Brasil. She also enjoyed a shoot for the cover of the famous Bartercard Miss Indy Calendar in Pit Lane over the Lexmark Indy 300 Carnival.
