Sea FM Air Show


Red Berets
This year we welcome back the Red Berets parachute team the to the Sea FM Air Show. They will climb to approximately 5 000ft above ground level, where the temperature will be approximately 5 degrees Celsius before exiting the aircraft. After jumping out, the paratroopers will begin to fall to Earth at terminal velocity of over 200km/hr. So be sure to watch out for the Red Beret team as they comeback down to earth!

F–111
Once again the crowd favourite F-111 Jet returns to ‘Dump and Burn’ the Gold Coast skies. This space age aircraft matches awesome power with state-of-the-art weapons and navigation technology. based at Amberly, it has a wing span of 21m and can hit speeds of up to 2400km/h. Be sure not to miss the thunderous F-111 dump and burn down the main straight.
Army Blackhawk Helicopter
The Blackhawk is the Army’s principal battlefield mobility helicopter. Faster and more manoeuvrable than any of it’s rivals, the Blackhawk can carry a full infantry section of 10 soldiers as well as items slung underneath whilst the twin-turbo shaft engines allow it to travel along at 269km/h. The Blackhawk is particularly useful in Australia where forces need to be deploy day and night over vast distances. The Sea FM Air Show sees two of these great aircraft wind through the Gold Coast skyline.
ARH Tiger Helicopter
The Armed Reconnaissance Helicopter Tiger or “Aussie Tiger” as it is also known is one of the new additions to the Australian Army. Equipped with cutting-edge technology including sensors, data links and communications as well as Hellfire missiles, 70mm rockets and cannons, the ARH Tiger has the flexibility to perform tactical reconnaissance as well as protect the Blackhawk helicopters as they transport troops and supplied. Be sure to keep your eyes peeled for the ARH Tiger weaving through the high rises of Surfers’ Paradise.
