SEE THE SUPERSTARS OF INDYCAR SERIES SCREAM There is nothing like it on earth. The sound of 650 horsepower howling past you at full throttle in a blur of colour and noise. Practice, qualifying and the big race itself all played out against a backdrop of brilliant blue skies and roilling surf.
THE COFFEE CLUB V8 SUPERCAR CHALLENGE What's not to love? Get up close and personal as the V8 Supercars breathe fire around the twists and turns of some of the most expensive real estate in Australia. It's Ford vs Holden in the race that separates the men from the boys and rattles the windows from one end of Surfers Paradise to the other.
OFFICIAL OFFTRACK EVENTS AND ENTERTAINMENT It's not just about having a good race. The Gold Coast Indy 300 is about having a good time too. For one incredible week, Australia's most glamorous beach-side city parties like there's no tomorrow. The Official Off-track Events Calender is made up of over 35 unmissable events, staged on the Gold Coast throughout the month of October, that add even more sparkle to the excitement and atmosphere.
HAYMAN'S ELECTRICAL CARRERA CUP With 2008 being it's sixth season in Australia, the Australian Carrera Cup is one of eight International Carrera Cups contested around the world. Be witness to the 997-based Porsche 911 GT3 Cup cars as they reach speeds in excess of 300kph through the tight Gold Coast circuit. These cars have been meticulously developed by Porsche's racing arm in Germany. The lightweight, high performance vehicles have a 400 horsepower, 3.6 litre six cylinder Boxer engine which revs to 8200rpm, producing a sound that is distinctly Porsche.
COATES AUSSIE RACING CARS The Aussie Racing Cars are the "pocket rockets" of Australian Racing. Aussie Racing Cars feature as mini replicas of four different body styles - the 1940 Ford Coupe and FJ Holden as well as the AU Falcon and VY Commodore. All cars are approximately half the size of a V8 Supercar and weight only 450kg, this provides an incredible power-to-weight ratio that allows the car to reach speeds in excess of 200kph! Be sure no to miss the Aussie Racing Cars zipping around the street of Surfers Paradise as they compete for championship points in round 6 of the series proudly sponsored by Coates.
FORMULA 3 Witness some of the hottest up and coming drivers in Australia's premier open-wheel racing category. Formula 3 racing is famous around the world for producing superstars. All the drivers have something to prove as they battle it out for titles in the Championship, National and Trophy Classes. Previous Formula 3 drivers include IndyCar Series star Will Power and V8 Supercars Mark Skaife, Jason Bright and Rick Kelly.
